Product / Constituent Link Overview¶
Tip
It is useful to link substances to entities as it shows what substances they are associated with / have interest in. When linking, a "Role" can be assigned that explains their reason for interest. The reason for interest is used in Cost Sharing - see the following example:
The Product and Constituent Link Overview is a quick way to bulk update links between substances and entities. Note that the overview does not allow for the following information to be assigned to OR or Registrant links: Registration Number / Sharing Role / Activity / Reason for Interest. If this information is needed then follow Create Links between Products/ Constituents and Entities.
1. 👆 Navigate to Products 👉 Link Products.¶
2. 👆 Select a "Business Role" from the drop-down field. The Business Role describes how the entity relates to the product.¶
Tip
The table displays all the products in the partition. The "Entities" column shows the existing links between a product and entity for the selected role. The "Contacts" column displays the existing links between a product and contact for the selected role.
3. 👆 Click the "Click to Add Links" field in the "Entities" column.¶
4. 👉 Select an entity from the drop-down list.¶
5. 👆 Click the "Click to Add Links" field in the "Contacts" column. Note: Only contacts that are associated to the linked entities can be selected.¶
6. 👆 Click the "×" to remove an existing link.¶
Warning
Unlinking an entity will unlink any addresses that are associated with the entity being unlinked.
